Murder strikes the Bermuda Triangle in this gripping high-seas horror starring Melissa George, Liam Hemsworth and Rachael Carpani. Jess encounters the first of many bad omens when her car kills a seagull near the local harbor. Later that night, her yacht hits a storm, forcing her and her friends to board a mysterious deserted ship. The clock on the ship has stopped — and so has any sense of safety. Christopher Smith writes and directs.

The House of the Devil (2009) R
A cash-strapped college student named Samantha (Jocelin Donahue) takes a babysitting job during a full lunar eclipse and ends up fighting for her life. She soon discovers that her employers, Tom (Tom Noonan) and Mary (Mary Woronov) Ulman, are hiding a wicked, sick and twisted secret. Ti West (Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever) writes, directs and edits this terrifying film set in the early 1980s. Greta Gerwig and AJ Bowen co-star.

HF Recommends… Zombieland (2009) R

I was really torn because I almost picked House of the Devil . I know a lot of people didn’t love it, but I rather enjoyed that it did indeed look and feel like it came straight from the 80s. But, I have picked the US version of Shaun of Dead instead. Enjoy!
An easily spooked guy, Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), joins forces with wild man Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) to fight for survival in a world virtually taken over by freakish zombies. As they destroy scores of the undead, they meet up with two other survivors, Little Rock (Abigail Breslin) and Wichita (Emma Stone), and journey to a supposedly safe abandoned amusement park. Ruben Fleischer directs this horror romp.

‘Zombieland 2’ Goes 3D – Happiness for Everyone!

Again with the 3D, again with the happy dance. I love, love 3D and since Zombieland was awesome, this should be great. Can you believe I’m happy about a sequel? Yup, I’m happy about a sequel.

Tell Woody to get gap teeth ready because here it comes. Variety reports, Sony is in the process of inking deals to bring back the “Zombieland” team for a second installment, but this time the bloody comedy is poised to unspool in 3D.

Sony has closed deals with Polone and helmer Ruben Fleischer to return for a sequel to the original, which cost $24 million and has earned $85.2 million worldwide to date (“Zombieland” has only opened in a few territories overseas). The Culver City studio is currently in talks with stars Woody Harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg to reprise their roles as a pair of post-apocalyptic survivors. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are working on the sequel’s screenplay.

More ‘Zombieland’ – Sequel in Works and Possible TV Series

Paul Wernick told MTV the following:
“We would love it, and everyone involved creatively wants to do another one,” Paul Wernick, one of the screenwriters, told MTV News before the film’s release. “Woody came up to us after the final cut of the last scene and gave us a hug and said, ‘I’ve never wanted to do a sequel in the previous movies I’ve done until this one.’ ”

In addition to Harrelson, Wernick and co-screenwriter Rhett Reese said the returning core crew would include Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin and first-time director Ruben Fleischer. If and when another film gets the green light, the writers have more than enough material with which to work.

“It has lived in our heads for four-and-a-half years,” Wernick said. “We developed it and wrote it as a spec TV pilot in the summer of 2005. We’ve got a long brainstorming document that still to this day gets updated on a near-weekly basis with ideas. We’ve got tons of new ideas swimming in our head.”

They haven’t started work on a script, though, and weren’t too keen to divulge any potential “Zombieland” sequel plot points. “It all obviously depends on what happens on Friday at the box office,” Reese cautioned.

And yes, the movie could turn up on tv screens as well.
“We would love to do several sequels,” Wernick said. “We would love to also see it on television. It would make a wonderful TV series.”

I kind of think they were going old school movie housey with this poster but it just came out a little meh. Kind of like the trailer, there’s no “there” there.

I still think this will just lack the whatever it is, Shaun of the Dead had, but it doesn’t look terrible. We American’s still haven’t mastered the art of sedulity when it comes to black humor, we go for the obvious.

Woody Harrelson Finds a Job Fighting Zombies

The Hollywoood Reporter reports that Woody Harrelson has signed on to star in the horror comedy “Zombieland,” which Ruben Fleischer is directing for Columbia Pictures. Here are the comedic deathtails: Written by the team of Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (“The Joe Schmo Show”), “Zombieland” revolves around a mismatched pair of survivors who find friendship and redemption in a world overrun by zombies. Harrelson plays one of the men, a zombie fighter named Albuquerque.

Gavin Polone and his Parish Films shingle are producing.

They go on further to mention that Woody ~~the Bartender~~ Harrelson was last seen in Semi-Pro. And you know what that means? Zombieland will not be funny or scary. Tragic. Was Bruce Campbell busy, because this sounds like more his groove? And didn’t Simon Pegg already do this? Yup, he did. It was called Shaun of the Dead.

Ahh, a masterpiece.
