You may or may not have seen this clip from the upcoming Let Me In already, but when I saw it, I immediately thought this didn’t happen in the original.
Ok, let me explain, Let Me In I was under the impression the remake of Let the Right One In was going to be shot by shot, but if this little clip is any indication then not so much. I have to say that makes me happy, because now I’m all curious about what changes they are going to make. Well big fat, Great!

Let Me In hits the theaters October 1st.

I’m sooo over remakes, I really struggled with having this discussion. Really how long is this going to trudge on? We finally finished doing the Asian remakes, at least as I type this. Nevertheless, here we go, 1985’s Fright Night is getting to join all the other in the remake race. According to the internet pipes out there, Lars and the Real Girl director Craig Gillespie is signing on to bring this to the silver screen.

At this point, I think the only way to make this even remotely interesting is to make Ryan Gosling the Chris Sarandon dude. But, still, guys enough with the damn remakes.

First off it’s strictly a rental type of film, it never should have seen the inside of a theater. But, if you’re looking for a quick stop at the Redbox or an instant view on Netflix, then this is actually pretty good.

As you probably know this is remake of the 1983 film The House on Sorority Row. Only difference is the original was before we all lived through the awful bullshit Jennifer Love Hewitt I Know What You blah, blah, blah. So, the storyline is a bore at this point. Kill someone, make pact, end of dead anyway. You know that.

The reason why the HF is saying it’s better than you thought is because of the kills. Yes, the saving grace for this movie are the creative kills, I mean shoving a bottle down the drunken girl’s throat — fun! Also, watch for the overused bitchy girl character, I really enjoyed her. Not sure what that says about me. Of course there’s the twist, a pretty meh twist, but a valiant effort nonetheless. Princess Lia makes a nice appearance in this, she’s been eating. But, I like Carrie Fisher, she’s like a drunken old aunt who you only bring out for the holidays. Sorority Row, see it.

Horror movie innovator, Brad Fuller, has taken to his blog to update us on the going ons with the upcoming A Nightmare on Elm Street remake. The movie hits theaters April 30, 2010.
Its time to clear some things up.

While many of you are enjoying a Christmas break I am working everyday on Elm Street. I have read all the rumors and want to make sure that you have the facts. We are doing a couple of days of reshooting Elm Street. People seem to be making a big deal about that fact. Elm Street is our 8th film and we’ve had reshoots for every film. As I have stated here many times, I try to read everything and I pay attention. The fans input has always been so valuable to me, and Elm Street is no exception. I don’t want to get specific about what we are shooting, but suffice to say we heard you. After you’ve seen the film we can discuss what was reshot. I will say this though- nothing beats seeing Jackie back as Freddy- he works so hard to perfect his portrayal and leaves nothing to chance.

Uh, Brad we love Jackie, it’s you guys vision that usually sucks. And on the Friday 2 front Fuller had this to say.

Let’s talk Friday 13th. We have busted our ass to get that movie going! The script is great- dare I say, better than the first. Shannon and Swift have outdone themselves. We are working with New Line to get that movie going. I had hoped to be able to tell you that we started prepping the movie, but that isn’t the case. We are hoping that New Line decides get us started early next year.

Actually this is delightful news, especially since the first Friday was excoriating, it could only get better from there. Wait…Halloween 2 screws that idea, so never mind.

This is a very welcomed surprise, because this looks good. Yes, it a virus movie and a remake, but anytime there’s pitchfork kill we should applaud it. Run see it immediately. Here are the deathtails:

In the latest effort to continue the trend of remaking everything and the kitchen sink, Universal and Imagine studios are said to be in talks with Neil Burger to write and direct the remake of the1935 monster movie. Burger,who would pen the script with writing partner Dirk Wittenborn, wrote and directed “The Illusionist,” the Edward Norton movie.

The original movie starred Boris Karloff as the Frankenstein monster and Elsa Lanchester as Mrs. Fank. No word on the new stars or where Burger will take this update.

Well at least it’s a really old classic that might, I stress might benefit from and update.
FYI: Do not change Mrs. Frank’s hot hair!

I seriously don’t think any writers returned to work after the writers’ strike, because Hollywood has officially run out of ideas. There are no more, because we are now getting a “reboot” of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

This time even Joss Whedon had the sense to just say no. Whedon will not be involved in the project. Good for you Joss. Someone has some dignity. According to the Hollywood Reporter, “Buffy” creator Joss Whedon isn’t involved and it’s not set up at a studio, but Roy Lee and Doug Davison of Vertigo Entertainment are working with original movie director Fran Rubel Kuzui and her husband, Kaz Kuzui, on what is being labeled a remake or relaunch, but not a sequel or prequel.

While Whedon is the person most associated with “Buffy,” Kuzui and her Kuzui Enterprises have held onto the rights since the beginning, when she discovered the “Buffy” script from then-unknown Whedon. She developed the script while her husband put together the financing to make the 1992 movie, which was released by Fox.

Kuzui later teamed with Gail Berman, then president of Sandollar Television, bringing back Whedon to make the TV series, which was produced by Fox TV and launched on the WB in 1997. Kuzui and Sandollar received executive producer credits on “Buffy” and its spinoff, “Angel.”

The new “Buffy” film, however, would have no connection to the TV series, nor would it use popular supporting characters like Angel, Willow, Xander or Spike. Vertigo and Kuzui are looking to restart the story line without trampling on the beloved existing universe created by Whedon, putting the parties in a similar situation faced by Paramount, J.J. Abrams and his crew when relaunching “Star Trek.”

This movie looks like it going to be dare I say it…good! From the looks of it, they are sticking pretty close to the Wes Craven original. Which I must say you should watch it, parts of it will make you want to wash your eyes out. Enjoy!

After the way I hated that tepid boring ruining remake of Friday the 13th. And the fact that I hated chunks of Halloween, I’ve decided I in no way I will be running out to a theater and seeing the remake of Nightmare, because I know it’s going to be a travesty, an abomination! You heard it here, I will hold on to my $10, I will have to rely on you guys to tell me all about it. Anyway, check out the casting list for the film.
