Audi has jumped on the vampire love wagon, just in time for this year’s Super Bowl. The automaker has released a minute long commercial highlighting (pun intentional) the bad assness of the Audi S7’s vampire slaying ability of its head lights. Pretty cool in my opinion. Doesn’t hurt that I’ve decided this is my next car. Think if I type Audi S7, enough they’ll send me one? Audi S7. Audi S7. Probably not.

Commercial Break – UNIVERSAL PICTURES CELEBRATES 100 YEARS

It’s alive! Universal will mark its 100th anniversary in 2012, and will commemorate its centennial with a yearlong celebration honoring the studio’s rich film history and cultural legacy. The campaign draws its inspiration from Universal’s extraordinary and diverse library of films, many of which will be highlighted throughout the year, and is designed to engage fans of all ages in the art of moviemaking.

A significant element of the centennial includes the extensive restoration of 13 of the studio’s most beloved titles such as To Kill a Mockingbird, All Quiet on the Western Front, Jaws, The Sting, Out of Africa, Frankenstein and Schindler’s List.
Universal Studios Home Entertainment will kick off the celebration in January with a special 50th anniversary release of To Kill a Mockingbird, debuting on Blu-rayTM for the first time ever. Throughout the year, Universal will pay tribute to other influential films in the Universal library with special events and Blu-rayTM releases of such iconic classics as Jaws and E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial, which celebrates its 30th anniversary.

I started this year with a pledge to make attempts at doing activities outside of my comfort zone. One of which is learning to play poker. I know. I know. Everyone has apparently played a hand of poker but me. Stop shaking your head and let’s continue. If you haven’t noticed already I DO not like to lose. I have a hard time with not winning. When I don’t know how to do something well, then I will not do it. So newly added to the bucket list Poker!

From the Paris Catacombs to the Magnificent Seven cemeteries in London, Europe is filled with darkness. Many people do not realize, for example, that the city of Paris sits on top of a city of the dead. From the twisted mind of award winning, internationally published and exhibited horror photographer April A. Taylor comes a new series, entitled Dark Europe, which explores some of these real-life scenes of the macabre.

For this line of work, April A. Taylor left behind the illustrative horror photography world filled with fake blood, skilled models and fully realized storylines that is her calling card. Instead she utilized only what was already in place and the results have been deemed by some to be even more disturbing than her other horror works.

Taylor’s blood-soaked and occasionally controversial pieces have been published and exhibited around the world in over 60 different books, magazines, art galleries, movies, etc. and was recently featured in Devanny Pinn’s short horror film CathARTic. Her work has garnered praise from countless industry professionals, including Fangoria.com, TheBloodSprayer.com, actress Ashley C.Williams (The Human Centipede) and several cast members from the Nightmare on Elm Street films (Lisa Wilcox, Ken Sagoes, Mark Patton and Heather Langenkamp). She has also been making appearances as an artist guest at multiple conventions around the country (next up is Detroit FanFare in September, located in her hometown of Detroit, MI).

Paramount Pictures and Twitter jointly announced today sneak preview showings of the movie SUPER 8 for 1-day only on Thursday, June 9th, in advance of the film’s scheduled nationwide release on Friday, June 10th. To promote the sneak previews, the companies have designated the hashtag #Super8Secret, which Paramount has also sponsored as a Promoted Trend, allowing Twitter’s global user base a direct link to buy tickets to the advanced previews. At select, participating theatres in the United States, Super 8 Sneak Preview moviegoers will be treated to a free popcorn (with a concession purchase) at each sneak preview show. Hosting movie sneak previews marks a first for Twitter. This promotion continues a key partnership between Paramount and Twitter on SUPER 8. The duo joined forces in March for the movie’s exclusive trailer premiere via Twitter, another exciting first for the site.
