In talking with a couple of my fellow horror lovers I have found there are some films in our beloved genre people just plain refuse to watch. One person told me she hated Hostel because of its torture porn mentality, it was just too gory for her. Now to me that’s just crazy talk. The gorier the better, I say. But, I have to admit to hating the sequel because, it did go too far, and I think the writer was getting off on seeing how far he could torture his female victims. Just me and my feministic views perhaps, but I say re-watch Hostel 2 and keep in mind, the boys in the previous films were never stripped before they were tortured. Off my soapbox and moving on with the conversation at hand.
A second friend said they wouldn’t watch anything involving spit. Yeah, I’m side-eyeing her as well. A lot of people are on the angry side about I Spit on Your Grave being remade. I hear ya, but the original was so batshit I’m curious to see what they do with it. Now, I did have an extremely hard time sitting through Jack Ketchum’s The Girl Next Door. I think I just have a hard time watching anyone abuse a woman in any way.
Other than that I am usually down for anything, hell I’m so excited for the sequel to The Human Centipede, but there are a few I will not watch and they all involve RATS. Anything with rats, swarms of rats, rat noises, talk of rats – all bad! I hate that fuckin’ Kia commercial, hip-hop rats, STILL giant rats. In other words, I will not watch Willard, Ben, the remake of Willard, or Food of the Gods. All of those movies can fuck off!
So peeps what won’t you watch? Or, are you so twisted you are down with anything?

I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it before, but a group of friends and I get together and watch REALLY BAD horror movies, to laugh, cringe,or drink ourselves silly ! We do try to gross each other out, and go to long lengths to do it. It’s sssssssooooooooo fun to see two 6 ft tall men cringe in disgust!
I was a horror reader long before I was allowed to watch horror movies…alot of Clive Barker’s stuff is…way over the farthest edge. I will celebrate the day they option the rights to Weaveworld and Imagica, The Great and Secret Show and Everville (?) Such great stories, ORIGINAL, twisted, and actually INTELLECTUAL too! What could be better?
I don’t think there is anything I won’t watch…if I can sit through “Centipede” facinated, anything is possible!

That sounds fun!! I’m glad I keep seeing people who liked Centipede, most people were all the idea of it grosses me out. Whatever.
Over on my FB where for some reason people do more commenting, (scratching head) someone mentioned I Spit on Your Grave and the original Last House on the Left.
Like I said in the post, I’m with you I can watch just about anything, with the exception of rats. I think I might have a phobia about them truly.

It is a cool idea, I’m sure someone will figure out a plugin or an app for it, LOL! Then you can sue and make them pay you for a good idea!
